(Hopkins ‘History of Wreck Covers’ records this cachet used from numerous vessels with notes on the high level of damaged and sunk Allied vessels early in WW2. The 2nd NZ Expeditionary Force deployed overseas in three main sections 1st to MiddleEast, 2nd to Great Britain (As Italy entered the war) and 3rd to the the Middle East)

Condition as shown - some edge fault - but was salved from sea!!
