WW1 Postcard British FPO H21 Tyre - Beruit Lebanon - Christmas 1918 Censored


An exceptional WW1 postcard. 

Postcard showing ‘Vue Generale de Tyre’ posted home to Salisbury Wilts, England, cancelled with the s/r FIELD POST OFFICE H21 datestamp - 30 NO 18. 

Proud (History of the British Army Postal Service), records this with the XX1 Corps in Beruit from October 1918, with the Tyre card confirming use in the Lebanon. 

The XX1 were at this time commanded by  General Sir Edward Buffin moving to the Lebanon after campaigns in Palestime and a period where the datestamp is not recorded used.
