WW1 Pair Letters from the RAF Kite Balloon Base Brindisi Italy Tunbridge Wells
An exceptional find from the 1st World War -
AFW 30768 stationery ACTIVE SERVICE envelope addressed to Tunbridge Wells and cancelled with the LONDON V JUL 18, countersigned 'Arthur C Wenham'
Enclosed two letters - small sheets paper, written in pencil - 1st addressed from 'new address' Kite Balloon Base, Bridisi Italy, c/o GPO London - This would be the Royal Air Force base at Brindisi Italy.
Second letter is very interesting, details 'what I have been up to today.....reveille ..... unloading stores..... joy ride along a dusty road..... trip to the habour etc.....'
Superb find and exceptionally scarce.
