WW1 period card noted to the front picture side June 19th 1915 showing the French Navy submarine the PRAIRIAL at sea. 

Not Posted, part written in pencil to reverse. 

The PRAIRIAL was lost 28th/29th April 1918 in the English Channel having sailed from Le Havre, northern France. The submarine was in collision with British steamship 'Tropic' and was then run aground, she sank with 19 men losing their lives and seven survivors.
